'Tis the Season to Keep Our Local Business Community Alive and Well

Every year during this time, rather than hit the big-box retailers and shopping malls, we head over to local antiques and boutique stores for unique home gifts to give to friends and family. As a small business ourselves, we try to support our local merchants as much as possible. Not to mention while we’re doing that, we also lessen our carbon footprint by buying antique or surprising friends and family with very special things that you don’t find everywhere else!

This past weekend, we stopped over at two of our favorite art galleries, Schroeder Studio Gallery and Copperwood Artware Gallery in Old Towne Orange.

Schroeder Studio Gallery is tucked in a few steps east from Glassell, on Maple Ave. (112 E. Maple Ave., Orange, CA). This gallery is owned and run by a mother and daughter team. They have a nice selection of watercolors, Motawi tile and glass works that are fitting for a vintage home or new home alike. We especially like the fish glasses from artist John Cook.

Copperwood Artware Gallery is about a block north of the Old Town Orange circle, at 148A N. Glassell, Orange, CA. This gallery has both watercolors and paintings, from small postcard sizes to large framed ones – perfect for those empty walls in your house. They also have a fine selection of beautiful woodworks for your home or office.
