Room Addition for a 1940's Bungalow

Here are some Before and After pictures of a room addition at the back of a 1940's bungalow we recently completed (see previous post).  This room addition included a cathedral shiplap ceiling, warm natural slate floors, built-in coat closet, laundry center, and water heater closet, and skylights to allow more natural sunlight to filter in.

This is what the bungalow looked like before, without the addition in the back.

Here's one of our crew members breaking up the existing concrete pad.

Here's the new concrete foundation being poured.

Here's the framing going up.

Almost at the finish line - drywall and painting almost complete.

Attic Build-Out - In the Making

Here's a sneak peek at an attic build-out we've been working on.  This will become a large master suite with vaulted ceilings, and equipped with a bathroom and closet.  Check back for final pictures when we're done.

Room Addition in Progress

Happy Thanksgiving to all!! We have so much to be thankful for this year - in spite of a continuing downward trend in construction and a future of uncertainty for all, we have been blessed with great projects, wonderful clients, and slow but steady growth.

These last few months, we've been busy wrapping up a couple of projects, one of which is a room addition to the back of our clients' home.

Here are a few sneak peeks below...check back for final pictures once the addition is completed:

1940s Bungalow Renovation

We recently had the wonderful opportunity to work on a classic 1940's bungalow. This bungalow has been in the same family since 1946 (see Deed of Trust dated 1946 in the office picture below), and our scope of work encompassed renovating the kitchen and bathroom, restoring the original hardwood floors, updating the baseboards, installing a new front door and building custom hallway cabinet doors to match the original.

The homeowner was very instrumental in the whole renovation process, picking out the right paint colors and doing all the interior painting (what a great job!), and adding special mementos that display some of her family life and history, making this bungalow a very special place.

Below are a few pictures of the front of the house, living room, office and hallway. More pictures of the bathroom and kitchen will be forthcoming...

Interior Update for a 1940's-Era Bungalow

We had a lot of fun working on this fantastic 1940's era bungalow - we widened the doorway between the dining room and kitchen, added some chair rail in the dining room, enhanced the fireplace, and painted all the interior walls, ceilings, doors and windows. The color scheme really made this bungalow cozy and inviting! See some of the before and after pictures below:
